Harshbeena Zaveri is the Vice Chairman & Managing Director of NRB Bearings Limited. She graduated with freshman distinction and as a Wellesley Scholar (magna cum laude) with honors from Wellesley College. Under her leadership, NRB Bearings Limited was selected as one of the Asia’s Best 200 companies under US $ 1 Billion in the year 2007.

She joined NRB as a trainee in 1987 and rose to become the President in 2001. Harshbeena spearheaded NRB’s foray into design engineering and set up an R&D Centre, enabling NRB to become a supplier to the world’s foremost automotive and mobility companies including global leaders Volvo, Renault, Audi, Daimler & Honda, and Technology leaders like ZF, Magna and Bosch. She is the Chairman on the Board of NRB, SNL bearings Ltd and has served as a Board Member on various leading diversified Indian Companies.

She has been the recipient of many prestigious national and international business awards and was honoured by Economic Times as – “Most inspiring leaders of India”, “Most Promising Asian Business Leader” presented by the Prime Minister of Malaysia and most recently recognised as one of the “Game Changers of India”.

She has been recognized asone of the “Most Powerful Women Leaders in India” by Fortune India since 2012. Business Today, Business World and India Today have named her amongst the  Most Powerful Women in Business . Most recently Forbes recognized her as one of the W- Power Trailblazers of India. She was among a select group who accompanied Former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee’s mission to Sweden for participating in bilateral discussions. She was the only business leader selected to be interviewed by BBC World from India to express views on GST reform in India.

An eminent speaker on leadership and inclusivity, she has been invited at prominent Universities like IIT Kharagpur, IIT Mumbai and various International Business Schools  – she has been a speaker at ISB,  Baruch College, City University of New York, IMD Business School and most recently at Cornell University’s Johnson School.

Passionate about empowering youth through education, she devotes considerable time to this endeavour. An active member of the Wellesley Business Leadership Council, Harshbeena is focused on achieving her Alma Mater Wellesley’s vision on creating women leaders in business and Science – she believes ‘an inclusive world is a better world for all’ and is engaged in enabling diversity in academia and business. She is part of the early founders (and the only woman founder) of Ashoka University, India’s first liberal arts university.

She is the Former President of The Ball & Roller Bearings Manufacturer’s Association, a Governing council member of Indo- French Chambers of Commerce, Indo- German Chambers of Commerce and the European Chamber of Commerce. She is a Patron member of Indo – American Chambers  of Commerce & Executive Committee Member of Regional Council of Confederation of Indian Industries and the Auto Components Association. She chairs various CII committees is on the CII National Manufacturing, Capital Goods and the Leadership & HR Committee, which play an advisory role to the Government for policy initiatives- She is also the Chairman of Industries Committee of Indo – French Chambers of Commerce.

On the personal front, Harshbeena’s husband who has his own export business is an alumnus of the Ross School of Management, University of Michigan. Her daughter, Karina Zaveri, a graduate of Amherst College, holds an MD from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she is a Doctor and a Co-director. Her son, Sahir Zaveri, graduated from Brown University in Applied Mathematics and Political Science; he is the founder of his own tech start-up which was judged one of the 50 NYC Start-ups To Watch in 2019 (Kingchildren.com).
