The Indian Government is consistently working on fiscal reforms to drive its “Atmanirbhar Bharat” campaign. Recently, guidelines were announced under the Production Linked Incentives (PLI) Schemes for some sectors which provide incentives for undertaking manufacturing activities in India and is applicable to domestic sales and exports from India. PLI schemes are sector focussed and cover 13 different sectors for now, with a scope of more sectors to be included in the future. These schemes also have an important interplay with corporate tax concessions.
